Linear
Create Linear issues from reviews
Once Linear is connected, AppReviewBot creates issues from matching reviews. That turns store complaints into backlog items your team can estimate, assign, and close.
Recommended setup: 1★ and 2★ only
Linear works best when every issue is something someone might actually ship a fix for. Start narrow:
- Open the app in AppReviewBot (or finish adding an app).
- Select your Linear destination.
- Set the star rating filter to 1 and 2.
- Save and enable the app.
New matching low ratings create Linear issues. Keep 4–5★ love notes in Slack or digests if you still want visibility without cluttering engineering.
Expand filters later (for example include 3★) once the team likes the volume and titles.
What each issue includes
- A clear title with rating signal and review context
- Priority derived from star rating (1★ tends toward Urgent / High)
- Body with app, store, author, version when available, and the quoted review
- Enough detail to triage without opening App Store Connect or Play Console
Priority mapping (typical)
| Review rating | Linear priority signal |
|---|---|
| 1★ | Urgent |
| 2★ | High |
| 3★ | Normal / Medium |
| 4–5★ | Low (if included) |
Attach apps to Linear
- Reuse one Linear destination across multiple apps
- Keep per-app filters so a consumer app and a B2B app can use different rating rules
- Need Slack and Linear? Create a second subscription for the same app with the other destination
Prove it works quickly
- Connect Linear.
- Link one app with 1–2★ filters.
- When the next critical review arrives, open it in Linear and assign an owner.
If a “app crashes on launch” review becomes an issue before anyone forwards it manually, the integration is doing its job.
