Google Chat Review Alerts
Review Alerts posts new app store reviews to Google Chat as soon as AppReviewBot detects them. Each message is a formatted review card your team can read, filter, and act on without opening the dashboard.
Features
- Instant alerts — New reviews appear in Google Chat automatically; no manual refresh
- Rich review cards — Star rating, reviewer name, review text, app name, store links, and translation support for non-English reviews
- Filters — Limit by star rating and country when creating the app subscription
- Space routing — Send different apps or rating ranges to different Google Chat spaces via separate destinations
Setup
There are two common ways to connect. Use Dashboard-first if you already know which space should get alerts. Use Bot-first if you prefer to add AppReviewBot to a space and finish setup from the link it posts.
Option A — Dashboard-first
-
In the dashboard, start Create App (or open Integrations) and choose Google Chat as the destination.
-
Sign in with Google when prompted and select the Chat space that should receive reviews.
-
Copy the destination ID shown in the dashboard (or follow the on-screen activate instructions).
-
In that Google Chat space, run:
@AppReviewBot configure DESTINATION_ID -
When activation succeeds, finish the app wizard in the dashboard (filters, subscription). Matching reviews will post to the space.
Option B — Bot-first
- Add AppReviewBot to the Google Chat space where you want alerts.
- Open the signed configure link the bot posts (you may need to sign in to AppReviewBot).
- Complete the dashboard wizard — pick your app, filters, and confirm the space.
- When setup finishes, the space is ready to receive review cards.
After setup
Matching reviews show up in the space as review cards. You can change filters or switch destinations anytime from the dashboard.
Common use cases
- Stay on top of feedback — Founders and app owners see new reviews in Google Chat without opening App Store Connect, Play Console, or the dashboard
- Act on issues faster — Product and engineering spot bugs, crashes, and regressions in review text right after a release and discuss fixes in the thread
- Route the right reviews to the right people — Send 1–2 star reviews to a support space and broader feedback to a product space
- Keep the whole team aligned — Support, product, and leadership share one live feed of what customers are saying
- Monitor multiple apps in one place — Teams with several apps route each app (or rating range) to the Google Chat space that owns it
